MV News: Create Your Own Caroline Seikaly Dress

Caroline Seikaly, the breakout Lebanese designer who worked under the guidance of Christian Lacroix and Karl Lagerfeld and quickly shot to fame with the creation of a signature lace dress, has launched her first online program whereby ladies can custom make their own version of the coveted lace dress.

The dress, which was originally designed by Caroline for herself in 2009, was made famous when Madonna wore it at a Marc Jacobs fashion show in New York City.It was also worn by several other celebs, including Hayden Panettiere, who wore it on national TV in the USA, and Mila Kunis, for whom it was redesigned and worn in the film, “Black Swan.”In 2012, the dress landed on the cover of French Elle magazine, worn by the beautiful Lea Seydoux.

Since then, this timeless “It” dress has been spotted on a number of other celebrities, A-list couture clients and even brides, all of whom have chosen different versions and colors of the lace dress for public appearances, concerts, premieres, photo shoots and weddings.

Still a favorite with the fashion pack, the ongoing demands for this timeless dress is what gave Caroline the idea to launch an interactive program. Through the program, users will be able to select the color, length, style, as well as the back details of the dress, thus putting their own touch to this signature piece without losing the essence of Caroline's design.Set to be launched in February, keep a look out for the chance to own this CS dress in a style and length that suits your frame and your occasion.

After five capsule collections based on architects (Mario Botta, Santiago Calatrava, Zaha Hadid), that strongly reflect the designer's taste for geometric constructions, Dina JSR's Spring/Summer 2015 collection marks a return to the basics of the brand: angular lines, facetted yokes, almost rigid materials, gemstone colors (jade green, cornelian orange, gold), the whole softened by blurred and see-through oriental veils and long silky textiles, which give movement and speed to the garment.

Save The Date

Ayyam Gallery is pleased to present Sand Rushes In, the forthcoming solo exhibition of United States-based, Palestinian-Iraqi artist Sama Alshaibi.Curated by Isabella Ellaheh Hughes, the exhibition will highlight Silsila (2009-present), an ongoing multimedia project by the artist that was shown as part of the Maldives Pavilion of the 2013 Venice Biennale.Alshaibi has recently created new works for the series, including video installations and large-scale photographs.Sand Rushes In will also mark the UK launch of the artist's eponymous monograph, which is edited by the curator and published by Aperture Foundation, New York.

Inspired by the nomadic traditions of Bedouins and the writings of fourteenth-century Moroccan explorer Ibn Battuta, Silsila (Arabic for ‘chain’ or ‘link’) depicts the artist's journey through the significant desert areas and bodies of water that connect North Africa and West Asia to the Maldives, an island nation located in the Arabian Sea and the Indian Ocean.

Performing at various sites in North Africa and West Asia, Alshaibi has composed a body of work that describes the desert as a place of enduring paradox.As Alshaibi demonstrates with visual poetics and laden imagery, the desert can serve as the starting point for a broader cultural reading, revealing the mystical and historical importance of such environments, through which the region, even more broadly, the world, can re-imagine an uncertain ecological future.

Opera Gallery Dubai, part of the internationally renowned Opera Gallery network, is set to exhibit Argentinian artist Antonio Segui’s new collection of paintings.The collection, which will be shown during Art Dubai 2015 ties in nicely with this year's focus on Latin America, showcasing Segui's fascination with cities, urban landscapes and multiculturalism on a global level.The artist will attend the opening night of the exhibition.

One of the greatest Latin American painters, Segui's past three decades of work illustrates his attraction with the city, it's people and it's pulse.Visually, Segui presents the 'everyman' in his work, an anonymous passerby amid the swarm and hustle and bustle of city life exploring man's place in society and surroundings.

Tried & Tested: Neutrogena Visibly Clear Spot Stress Control Daily Scrub

My skin breaks out from time to time, so to help keep my skin under control I enlisted Neutrogena Visibly Clear Spot Stress Control Daily Scrub.I've been using it regularly for about 3 weeks and I have to say, I think it's the right scrub for me.I have long been on the lookout for a new facial scrub that comes in a travel friendly tube.Small sizes are usually more easier to carry when travelling and also give me the opportunity to switch brands as often as I like without feeling guilty.

These are all the reasons why Neutrogena Visibly Clear Spot Stress Control Daily Scrub caught my eye.The first thing I noticed about the scrub is that it smells heavenly.It has a very fresh and subtle green tea kind of scent, which lingers for a little while after use.
On the plus side, it's formulated to help you fight acne where it starts, while actively reducing the irritation and redness associated with breakouts.Spot Stress Control is so advanced, it treats acne even before it emerges.

he creamy rich texture still feels very nourishing and I even like this more than Neutrogena's Visibly Clear Blackhead Eliminating Daily Scrub, thanks to the inclusion of green tea and cucumber extracts.After using this for awhile, I noticed my skin definitely looking more even and it helped clear up some persistent, evil acne that I was harbouring on my T-zone.The thing I loved about the scrub was that it just felt so ridiculously gentle on my skin.Sure, you can still feel that it's a scrub, but it doesn't feel like it's stripping your skin raw.It's perfect just another green home wonder from Neutrogena!
