Young creatives and entrepreneurs looking to be the next avant-garde fashion designer or award winning illustrator should join London College of Fashion (LCF) this summer as they bring to Dubai a carefully edited short course programme straight from one of the world's fashion capitals.Taking place at VIDA Hotel between 14th-28th May, LCF will be offering thirteen innovative courses covering all aspects of fashion.

MV News: Learn The Art Of Handbag Design In Dubai With The London College Of Fashion


Fashionistas in general and handbag lovers in particular will be excited to learn that the London College of Fashion is bringing to Dubai a Handbag Design Short Course this October.With accessories playing such a dominating role in the fashion industry within the Middle East, handbags leading the way, the course offering proves to be more valuable and in demand than ever.

From 8th – 22nd October 2014, LCF will brighten up the already gleaming Vida Hotel – Downtown with a variety of fashion short courses.Handbag Design, one of the most anticipated, focuses on how to create a handbag collection both creatively and practically.It includes researching and understanding the market, developing design ideas and where to manufacture the collection.

Tutor Ann Saunders couldn't fit in any better.Being an accessories designer specialised in handbags, she deals with entrepreneurs, designers and manufactures to create product ranges and advise on trends.Ann designed for Laura Ashley and the Arcadia Group (Miss Selfridge, Topshop and BHS), companies looking at accessories as means to add excitement to their offer.

MV News: Satisfy Your Shoe Obsession With LCF's Course In Footwear Design


If you fancy yourself as the next Jimmy Choo, the Footwear Design course by London College of Fashion in Dubai is a must try this summer; one of the new and exciting courses to be conducted when LCF returns to Dubai between 16th-28th May.

Held in the spectacular Vida Hotel - Downtown, Footwear Design will introduce students to the art of designing the perfect shoe! Developing amazing ideas through a mixture of workshops and classes, students will focus on progressing their understanding of storyboards, range building and interpreting trends.

Course tutor, Fiona Campbell has extensive understanding and experience in all aspects of personalised and bespoke shoemaking.  Starting her career with a west end fashion company supplying retailers such as Miss Selfridge and Topshop, Fiona went on to set up her own footwear label which focused on fast moving youth fashion, she also lectures at the V&A London on shoe history and culture.

MV News: London College Of Fashion Joins Fashion Forward 3



London College of Fashion, the world’s leading institution once again joins forces with Fashion Forward for the third installment of the UAE's biannual fashion event at Madinat Jumierah.Following his hugely successful appearance at Fashion Forward 2, renowned lecturer and experienced fashion journalist Paul Tierney returns this year on 11th April at 19:30 to present an inspiring talk “Writer vs. Stylist – what's right for you?”  

For all those fashion fans longing to become a fashion journalist, stylist or both, Paul Tierney will examine the art of playing to your strengths, and how to navigate fashion's well-guarded borders.


The London-based journalist, editor, university lecturer and LCF tutor is one of the leading authorities in his field and is regularly commissioned by the world’s leading newspapers and magazines, including Love, Pop, Another Man, The Independent and The London Evening Standard. Paul is the Editor at Large of bi-annual style magazine, Ponystep, a regular columnist for Grazia Middle East, and a consultant to Conde Nast UK.
