First Look: Victoria Beckham S/S 15 Aviator Collection

Since it's launch five years ago, the Victoria Beckham eyewear business has seen strong growth and as a result the brand is now looking to diversify it's manufacturing base to broaden the offer and streamline it's production and deliveries. 

Autumn/Winter 2015 sees the introduction of the first offering within this production set up: a new capsule collection of aviators.With a focus on innovative design, bold colour and superior quality, the new Classic Victoria Aviator takes inspiration yet evolves from the existing bestselling aviator styles.

In keeping with the emphasis on quality, the Classic Victoria aviators feature Zeiss certified lenses.Having made lenses since the 19th Century, Zeiss are the oldest and most experienced lens producers in the world.The new aviator collection also sees the introduction of an exclusive rose gold anti-reflective coating.This coating, which eliminates light reflections and limits glare, has a bespoke, subtle gold hue that has been developed with Zeiss exclusively for Victoria Beckham.

Split into two groups, the collection encompasses both mirrored styles and those with a delicate leather brow bar.The mirrored styles come in bold, saturated colours inspired by exotic terrains: ‘Cactus’ green, ‘sunset’ orange, ‘Desert Rose’ pink, ‘and sandy ‘Dune’ yellow. Conversely, the leathers used on the brow bars of other styles follow the more subtle colours – ‘Linen’, ‘Powder Blue’ ‘Candy Pink' - used on the bags in the Victoria Beckham Accessories line, linking the two collections neatly together.

Included within the new Classic Victoria aviator capsule collection is an offering of premium styles featuring uniquely luxurious elements.18ct gold-dipped and platinum frames are refined and elegant, whilst snap hinges give extra flexibility and prevent the backs of the lenses from scratching.

Arising from this combination is the Ferragamo Buckle Collection, a new project that embraces the Salvatore Ferragamo eyewear and timepieces world and offers a modern reinterpretation of the concept of the buckle, highlighting not only the purely aesthetic role it has in the label's footwear and accessories, but also it's functional relevance.

An example of the finest Swiss Made artisanal tradition applied to design, the case of the watches reflects the shape of the buckle.The 37 mm-diameter case, which comes in steel or gold IP, stands out for it's distinctive cloche shape, with the bezel in metal or in black, beige or tortoiseshell-effect acetate, to match the frames of the glasses.The dial, in champagne, silver, dark brown or black, is further enhanced by the intricate guilloché finishing and the diamond-embedded numbers on the flange.Equipped with a Swiss-Made quartz movement the case features the crown at 12 o'clock.The asymmetrical lugs support the vegetable-tanned calfskin strap, which comes in 6 different colours: tobacco, beige, orange, brown, fuchsia and black with contrasting top-stitching. 

The Buckle Collection sunglasses are reinvented with the front in the shape of a buckle, turning attention to detail into a hallmark of style.Made of acetate and metal, they are the perfect synthesis of creativity, functionality and cutting-edge technology: from the fastening of the acetate circles to the metal front to the stylish hinge produced from a block of metal and the Ferragamo logo lasered onto the stems and the right lens.Available in four stylish colours - black and gold, light havana and palladium, dark havana and gold, ivory and gold.
