An Exotic Affair

This season Deana Shaaban launches her highly anticipated Spring/Summer 2015 collection.Available in Zamalek, Maadi and Cairo Festival City Mall, these new designs are expected to become this season's favorite pret-a-porter collection.

Exuding color and personality, DS Spring/Summer 2015 is furnished with comfortable harem pants, loose garments, sensual patterns, and signature Deana Shaaban summer dresses.Of course, the collection would not be complete without the staple multi-colored, flowy maxi designs perfect for both a fabulous morning function and this season's multiple beach weddings.

The new collection's cultural inspirations are driven from her frequent travels around the world; with a special focus on Asia.Within each design, Indonesia, Turkey and Korea, have played a frivolous role in color choice, material and patterns. The eastern panache is, in fact, evident in almost each item; every design takes the wearer to an exotic travel destination, welcoming Spring/Summer 2015 in formidable style

To emphasize the expression of freedom and comfort, both very important to the brand, Deana breaks the traditional norms by combining asymmetric layers of delicate fabrics such as: Viscose, Cotton, Linen and Batik to Chiffon and Satin.

MV News: Create Your Own Caroline Seikaly Dress

Caroline Seikaly, the breakout Lebanese designer who worked under the guidance of Christian Lacroix and Karl Lagerfeld and quickly shot to fame with the creation of a signature lace dress, has launched her first online program whereby ladies can custom make their own version of the coveted lace dress.

The dress, which was originally designed by Caroline for herself in 2009, was made famous when Madonna wore it at a Marc Jacobs fashion show in New York City.It was also worn by several other celebs, including Hayden Panettiere, who wore it on national TV in the USA, and Mila Kunis, for whom it was redesigned and worn in the film, “Black Swan.”In 2012, the dress landed on the cover of French Elle magazine, worn by the beautiful Lea Seydoux.

Since then, this timeless “It” dress has been spotted on a number of other celebrities, A-list couture clients and even brides, all of whom have chosen different versions and colors of the lace dress for public appearances, concerts, premieres, photo shoots and weddings.

Still a favorite with the fashion pack, the ongoing demands for this timeless dress is what gave Caroline the idea to launch an interactive program. Through the program, users will be able to select the color, length, style, as well as the back details of the dress, thus putting their own touch to this signature piece without losing the essence of Caroline's design.Set to be launched in February, keep a look out for the chance to own this CS dress in a style and length that suits your frame and your occasion.

First Look: DINA JSR Spring/Summer 2015

After five capsule collections based on architects (Mario Botta, Santiago Calatrava, Zaha Hadid), that strongly reflect the designer's taste for geometric constructions, Dina JSR's Spring/Summer 2015 collection marks a return to the basics of the brand: angular lines, facetted yokes, almost rigid materials, gemstone colors (jade green, cornelian orange, gold), the whole softened by blurred and see-through oriental veils and long silky textiles, which give movement and speed to the garment.

This season, Caroline Seikaly unveils her Autumn/Winter 2014 collection, which exudes a timeless elegance and structured form. When describing this season's collection, Caroline adds: “The Autumn/Winter 2014 collection was inspired by the print design of British textile designer, Pepe Lowe.It was a photo of a burning tree. The colour palette takes the guise of burnt ash and crimson ember, hence the collection's palette and name, ‘Cinereous’.My father's 1950 U.S. Navy jacket was also a major inspiration for the more masculine pieces in the collection.”

Paying tribute to the female form, the beautifully tailored pieces highlighted this season, reflect her belief in the aesthetic beauty hidden in the female silhouette. Each piece is masterfully crafted and tailored to flatter any women's figure. The highly textured Autumn/Winter 2014 collection is a painted canvas of earthy tones with colours capturing the essence of the winter's dramatic mood. The colour palette evolves throughout the collection from black to different hues of grey, pale pink and rich green, the colour of the season.

The fabrics in the collection are both rich and luxurious. From French lace, Italian tweed, chiffon, and metallic mousseline, her approach in fabric manipulation provides a contrasting element in the collection.Seikaly continues to create unique collections, transforming her brand into a renowned fashion label with a focus on the elegance and character of the modern day woman. She continues to attract the likes of trendsetting female icons, including Madonna and Mila Kunis, amongst others.
